FAQ
What does our gift enable?
$500 a month launches a new language in the ethnē app each year, and supports the local community using it through their first year. $1,000 a month launches two. (Average launch cost; translators decide when and what they publish.)
Can we pick which translation we launch, or suggest a new one?
No — and that’s on purpose. Last Mile translators decide what to publish and when. We don’t want Scripture launches waiting on funding; your gift makes sure finished Scripture reaches the people it was made for.
Have a specific translation in mind? We’d love to partner with you, if possible. Please contact us with the details and a link to the translation, if you have one. What we add next depends on local demand in the Last Mile, and our ability to get permissions from the translator.
Does this gift fund translation?
No. ethnē does not translate. Translators translate, on their timeline. Your gift launches their finished work to the people it was made for.
Does our church receive the Champion membership benefits?
No. Labs, the Momentum Dashboard, and the gifts are what an individual membership buys — a subscription for services. A church gift receives the story: impact reporting, a monthly note from our pastor to yours, and celebration of every launch. Keeping the two separate is what keeps your gift fully tax-deductible — and anyone in your congregation can join as an individual Champion.
Who does our church give to?
A top-rated 501(c)(3) nonprofit that manages hundreds of charitable projects is our fiscal sponsor. Giving details are handed to you personally.
Is it tax-deductible?
Yes, for gifts through the fiscal sponsor.
Why is ethnē structured this way?
We operate as The Discipleship Platform, LLC, under a fiscal sponsor, so our people’s names stay off public records. Where we work, that protects our team and those we serve while ensuring the same governance required of any nonprofit.

FAQ
Can I invite people to my team?
Yes — that’s the heart of it. Start your own team, and you’ll instantly get a link to send to your family, friends, church, or small group Bible study. Everyone who joins through your link lands on your team. It’s how teams fill fastest. Contact us if we can support you.
Do I have to contribute to start a team?
No. Starting a team is a generous act in itself. If you already give elsewhere, or give through your church, start the team and gather your people — you’ll still get every milestone, the completion, and the launch. You made it happen.
Who is on my team?
Your team is made from the people who join through your team’s link. If you join the open team we’ve started, it’s made from whoever joins alongside you. If you make the team with your friends or small group, you may want to create a chat group on your preferred communication platform (WhatsApp, Signal, etc.) to share milestones and celebrations together. ethnē will never show Champions’ names, emails, or amounts to anyone: not on a page, not in an email, not even to the person who started the team.
How do we follow our team’s progress? Does everyone on the team get the same updates?
Every member of the team will get emails at each milestone and when you reach your team goal of $500 a month. After that, you’ll get our monthly email to celebrate new languages launched and new offerings for Champion members.
Everyone gets the same updates, including the person who started the team. We never announce when an individual joins or a specific amount given, so each person’s contribution stays private, even among friends.
What if my friends give more than $500? Does that automatically start a new team?
No new team starts by itself — your team simply passes $500, and nothing stops more people from joining it. If a single gift takes the team over the top, the extra part is counted toward the ethnē open team forming now, helping it reach $500 too. And if your church or group wants a second team, anyone can start one in under a minute.
What if someone on our team cancels?
Your team total never goes down. The goal is reaching $500 a month — once a membership’s first payment succeeds, that progress belongs to the team.

How do we celebrate launches?
Together. Every month, every Champion hears which languages went live — and we celebrate with the Last Mile church that launched them.

Yes — contact us and we’ll update it. Your team’s link stays the same, so anything already shared keeps working.
Is it tax-deductible?
No, and here’s why: Champion membership is a subscription for services. We operate as The Discipleship Platform, LLC so our people’s names stay off public records.
