Can I invite other people to my team?
Yes — that’s the heart of it. Send the link you received to your family, friends, church, or small group Bible study. Everyone who joins through that link lands on your team. It’s how teams fill fastest. Be sure to contact the person who invited you to let them know you’re helping fill your team. And contact us if we can support you.
Who is on my team?
Your team is made from the people who join through your team’s link. If you join the ethnē open team, it’s made from whoever joins alongside you. If you make the team with your friends or small group, you may want to create a chat group on your preferred communication platform (WhatsApp, Signal, etc.) to share milestones and celebrations together. ethnē will never show Champions’ names, emails, or amounts to anyone: not on a page, not in an email, not even to the person who started the team.
How do we follow our team’s progress? Does everyone on the team get the same updates?
Every member of the team will get emails at each milestone and when you reach your team goal of $500 a month. After that, you’ll get our monthly email to celebrate new languages launched and new offerings for Champion members.
Everyone gets the same updates, including the person who started the team. We never announce when an individual joins or a specific amount given, so each person’s contribution stays private, even among friends.
What if I want to give more than this team needs to reach $500?
If your gift takes the team over the top, the extra part is counted toward the ethnē open team forming now, helping it reach $500 too — so you’re part of making Scripture available in two different languages.
What if someone on our team cancels?
Your team total never goes down. The goal is reaching $500 a month — once a membership’s first payment succeeds, that progress belongs to the team.
Can my team pick which language we launch?
No — and that’s on purpose. Last Mile translators decide what to publish and when. We don’t want Scripture launches waiting on funding; your team makes sure finished Scripture reaches the people it was made for.
Have a specific translation in mind? We’d love to partner with you, if possible. Please contact us with the details and a link to the translation, if you have one. What we add next depends on local demand in the Last Mile, and our ability to get permissions from the translator.
How do we celebrate launches?
Together. Every month, every Champion hears which languages went live — and we celebrate with the Last Mile church that launched them.
Is it tax-deductible?
No, and here’s why: Champion membership is a subscription for services. We operate as The Discipleship Platform, LLC so our people’s names stay off public records. Where we work, that protects our team and those we serve. We are a fiscally sponsored project with a top-tier nonprofit, with the same governance required of any nonprofit.
