Most of the last 3,000 languages aren’t written. Their Bible will be heard, not read.

Circles

Gather your circle. Launch new languages.

A circle is a few people who together contribute $500 a month. That launches a new language in the ethnē app each year, and helps it spread phone to phone throughout the community.

We launch finished Scripture. We don’t translate.

  • Your small group

Grace Small Group · today 9:14 AM
I started a circle with ethnē — together we’re launching God’s Word into new languages in the ethnē app. People can experience the Bible in their heart language for the first time, then share it with others. Would you join us?

You don’t need to contribute financially to start one — gathering a circle is a gift in itself.

The open ethnē circle

Anyone can step in. When the circle closes, it carries a new language every year, and the next circle opens.

We never share your name, email, or amount with anyone in your circle.
Circle membership is a subscription, not a tax deduction. We’re built that way so our people’s names stay off public records; where we work, that protects lives. Most givers take the standard deduction, so at this level the difference is small. If tax-advantaged giving matters to you, reach out →
FAQ
Can I invite people to my circle?
Yes — that’s the heart of it. Start your own circle, and you’ll instantly get a link to send to your family, friends, church, or small group Bible study. Everyone who joins through your link lands in your circle. It’s how circles fill fastest. Contact us if we can support you.
Do I have to contribute to start a circle?
No. Starting a circle is a generous act in itself. If you already give elsewhere, or give through your church, start the circle and gather your people — you’ll still get every milestone, the completion, and the launch. You made it happen.
Who is on my circle?
Your circle is made from the people who join through your circle’s link. If you join the open circle we’ve started, it’s made from whoever joins alongside you. If you make the circle with your friends or small group, you may want to create a chat group on your preferred communication platform (WhatsApp, Signal, etc.) to share milestones and celebrations together. ethnē will never show members’ names, emails, or amounts to anyone: not on a page, not in an email, not even to the person who started the circle.
How do we follow our circle’s progress? Does everyone on the circle get the same updates?

Every member of the circle will get emails at each milestone and when you reach your circle goal of $500 a month. After that, you’ll get our monthly email to celebrate new languages launched and new offerings for circle members.

Everyone gets the same updates, including the person who started the circle. We never announce when an individual joins or a specific amount given, so each person’s contribution stays private, even among friends.

What if my friends give more than $500? Does that automatically start a new circle?
No new circle starts by itself — your circle simply passes $500, and nothing stops more people from joining it. If a single gift takes the circle over the top, the extra part is counted toward the open circle forming now, helping it reach $500 too. And if your church or group wants a second circle, anyone can start one in under a minute.
What if someone on our circle cancels?
Your circle total never goes down. The goal is reaching $500 a month — once a membership’s first payment succeeds, that progress belongs to the circle.
Can my circle pick which language we launch?

No — and that’s on purpose. Last Mile translators decide what to publish and when. We don’t want Scripture launches waiting on funding; your circle makes sure finished Scripture reaches the people it was made for.

Have a specific translation in mind? We’d love to partner with you, if possible. Please contact us with the details and a link to the translation, if you have one. What we add next depends on local demand in the Last Mile, and our ability to get permissions from the translator.

Does this fund translation?
No. ethnē does not translate. Translators translate, on their timeline. Your circle launches their finished work to the people it was made for.
How do we celebrate launches?
Together. Every month, every circle member hears which languages went live — and we celebrate with the Last Mile church that launched them.
Can our church give as a congregation instead?
Yes. A top-rated 501(c)(3) nonprofit that manages hundreds of charitable projects is our fiscal sponsor. Giving details are handed to you personally, and gifts through the fiscal sponsor are tax-deductible. Your church’s gift counts toward a circle like any other. Talk with us.
Is my membership tax-deductible?
No, and here’s why: circle membership is a subscription for services. We operate as The Discipleship Platform, LLC so our people’s names stay off public records. Where we work, that protects our circle and those we serve. We are a fiscally sponsored project with a top-tier nonprofit, with the same governance required of any nonprofit. If tax-advantaged giving matters to you, reach out.
Can I change my circle’s name?
Yes — contact us and we’ll update it. Your circle’s link stays the same, so anything already shared keeps working.
Can I change or cancel my membership?
Anytime, from your account.

God is doing something new in the last mile

Join us.

It’s in unwritten languages

After 2,000 years of pursuing the Great Commission, the Church is closer than ever to bringing the Gospel to every people group in every language. But these final languages don’t use writing, so the first Bible will not be a written book. It will be audio.

The Bible translation movement globally has realized this. In just four years, the number of audio-only translation projects has grown from around 200 to more than 1,200. ethnē is purpose-built for these.

It’s locally led

Many translation teams already had approved chapters and books. They were waiting for someone else.

Getting finished Scripture into hands and hearts always came later, after the translator’s part was done. With ethnē it doesn’t. A finished passage goes from their translation software straight into the ethnē app, an app made for how their people use language and technology, the day it’s ready. Translators know their language and their community, so they decide when to publish and how it spreads. Every decision is theirs.

It’s a two-way exchange

The Church is one body, connected in giving and receiving. Faith forged in fire. Wisdom refined in the hardest places on earth. The Last Mile Church has something to teach us — and we have the privilege to partner with them.
